The Google search requests reveal that only a tiny percent of people from the Ukraine use the Ukrainian language for it, while the overwhelming majority sticks to Russian. The official promotion of the Ukrainian has reduced itself to the war of attrition against the Russian language: the 4th in its influence among the 5 major vehicular languages of the world. These are: English, French, German, Russian and Spanish, according to the statistics of the prominent American scholar Lawrence Venuti.
