1.04.14 - 3.05.14
04.09.2014, 12:48

3.05.14 Every human being dislikes violence. I dislike Maidan, but let them have their own say. I dislike people who came to Novorossia to impose their way of life. I am mourning for those who are dying in Odessa and Slovyiansk. We are together, brothers! We shall never let the Nazis sing their songs in our streets! This is our land.

1. 05.14 Today is the holiday of working people who earn their daily bread the hard way. The serenity of holidays has gradually been evaporating in the Ukraine since last fall. And who is to blame? Here is a good piece of writing by a Westerner (Seumas Milne  in The Guardian) who knows something about our troubles: In Ukraine, fascists, oligarchs and western expansion are at the heart of the crisis

30.04.14 Read Donn Marten's article, kids. http://www.opednews.com/articles/Wag-the-Finger-John-Kerry-by-Donn-Marten-Capitalism_Delusion_History_John-Kerry-140428-658.html

Here is a quote from it:  "It is by now obvious that the US establishment created Ukrainian crisis is not headed towards a happy ending and the Obama regime is going to engage in the act of war of slapping even more onerous economic sanctions on Russia. When historians look back on all of this it may well be documented as the true beginning of the end of the haughty, hubris crazed American Empire".

Donn Marten is a free lance writer, activist and consultant who resides in West Central Florida.

29.04.14 In the article below you will find the allegation that seems to be very strange against the backdrop of the USA democratic rhetoric: everyone who does not fall into the mainstream of American political writing is "a pathetic dupe".

The Pathetic Lives of Putin’s American Dupes

24.04.14 It's worth while reading. WHO ARE THE PUPPET MASTERS?

Neil Clark reflects on the mindboggling hypocrisy and double standards of the US and its NATO puppet states. Why are these superbullies so intent on nation wrecking and chaos creation all over the world? Can it be because they seek world domination under a small, secretive elite of Puppet Masters?

21.04.14 Here is a find by Ksenia Butova http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00h9lz3/episodes/player  I am sure you will appreciate it.

Easter is a promise
God renews to us in each spring.
May the promise of Easter
fill your heart with peace and joy!
Happy Easter!

17.04.14 There is no large Russian military presence in East Ukraine, head of EU intelligence, Commodore Georgij Alafuzoff, has said. The spy chief has dismissed multiple accusations from the West alleging Russian involvement in the unrest in the region.

Ukraine's "anti-terrorist" operation is looking more and more a non-event - or worse, an outright fiasco, reports the BBC's David Stern in Donetsk.

16.04.14 A piece of flagrant lies that hit the headlines today appeared in the UN report. The report says there is no credible evidence of issues that would justify concern on the part of the Russian speaking population of Ukraine. I want to ask you, kids. Have you come in your process of learning  across attempts to force you to translate into Ukrainian? These attempts are not only harassing native speakers of Russian, communicative practices of Zaporozhye, but profane the main idea of the Translation department: to create a favourable set-up for professional competence in which central place is allocated to vehicular languages, such as Russian. Regional languages, such as Ukrainian, are not considered in terms of translation practices because their use is restricted to Belles-Lettres, while vehicular languages dominate in technical, medical, legal, diplomatic, mass media and other functional styles.

15.04.14 The translator’s competence is determined by two things: by the stock of ‘natural equivalents’ in their memory and by the ability to produce equivalents with the help of different devices (transposition, modulation, particularization, generalization, compensation etc.) when ‘natural equivalents’ are missing. ‘Natural equivalents’ are presumed to exist between languages prior to the act of translating and are very important in the process of professional training.

Memorize one of the informal buzz expressions of mass media ‘spin doctor’.

Its Russian correspondences offer such ‘natural equivalents’ as:

1)  спиндоктор (transcription),

2) пиарщик (transcription + morphological adaptation),

3) политтехнолог (rewording and explicitation),

4) эксперт по связям с общественностью, прессой (обеспечивает подачу информации в СМИ под нужным углом зрения) (explicitation, neutralization and secondary explicitation by means of the translator’s commentary in brackets).

Syn: Passion Sunday

9.04.14 Michel Chossudovsky (born 1946) is a Canadian economist. He is professor of economics (emeritus) at the University of Ottawa. Chossudovsky has been a visiting professor internationally, and has been an advisor to governments of developing countries. In 1999, Chossudovsky joined the Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research as an adviser. He is the author of The Globalization of Poverty and The New World Order (2003) and America's "War on Terrorism" (2005) and Towards a World War III Scenario: The Dangers of Nuclear War (2011).

This is what he says: "Kiev has hired foreign mercenaries to take over law enforcement duties as well as most covert operations in eastern Ukraine, as the country struggles to regain control of its security apparatus".

8.04.14 This is Stephen F. Cohen's opinion about the Ukraine:

Read it by all means!

5.04.14 There are many people in Western Europe who call themselves 'eurosceptics'. The article here gives a critical coverage of both the EU and USA  politics pursued in the Ukraine.  http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2014/03/29/western-looting-ukraine-begun-paul-craig-roberts/

4.04.14 Some linguistic units prove to be resistant to translation. It takes deverbalization and interpretation efforts to produce a 'dynamic equivalent' (Eugene Nida's term) that in its linguistic form has very little or nothing to do with the original. An example: "Some like it hot" is the title of a famous American film. The title got a complete linguistic rearrangement (целостное преобразование) in Russian: "В джазе только девушки". This dynamic equivalence was partially inspired by one of the meanings of 'hot', partially by the tenor of the title and partially by the plot of the film.

1.04.14 Have you noticed that nowadays there are too many scientific degrees and too many people who own them. While everyone knows that in humanities not until 50 can you hope to command enough knowledge to be a Professor, you will hardly make a step in Ukraine without bumping into green youth sporting proudly diplomas of "Professors". Think about the article published here: http://novorossiya.info/publicism/802-hutoryanskoe-protiv-imperskogo.html
